The Agriforest Ontology (AFO)

The Agriforest Ontology (AFO) is being built by combining the concepts of the Agriforest Thesaurus
(ca. 6000), maintained by the Viikki Science Library, University of Helsinki, with The Finnish General Upper Ontology YSO. The aim is to give detailed and uniform concept descriptions by using the basic structure of The Finnish General Upper Ontology YSO.

The Agriforest ontology is created as a part of the FinnONTO project.

Agriforest-ontologia (AFO)

Agriforest-ontologia (AFO) muodostetaan yhdistämällä Helsingin yliopist on Viikin tiedekirjaston maatalous-, metsä-, puu-, elintarvike-, kotitalous-, kuluttaja- ja ympäristöalojen Agriforest-asiasanaston käsitteet
(n. 6 000) Yleiseen suomalaiseen ontologiaan (YSO). Tavoitteena on ontologian avulla tarkentaa ja yhtenäistää käsitetietoja ja niiden esittämistä hyödyntämällä YSOn perusrakennetta.

Afo-ontologian kehitystyö on osa Suomalaiset semanttisen webin ontologiat -projektia.
